1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of Our Home Base, a home management application. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use Our Home Base.

Our Home Base is operated by Kaizah Trading Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17107740). You can contact us at homebase@kaizah.tech.

2. The service

Our Home Base lets households track maintenance tasks, chores, costs, and contractors in one shared place. We offer three plan tiers:

  • Free: up to 5 tasks, basic functionality, no subscription required.
  • Personal Pro (£1.99/month): unlimited tasks, email reminders, task library, up to 5 saved contractors, and reports.
  • Family Pro (£4.99/month): everything in Personal Pro, plus chores with points and badges, up to 5 household members, child accounts, and the family leaderboard. Includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.

We reserve the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Where reasonably possible, we will give you advance notice of changes that materially affect your use of a paid plan.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or over to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. Please notify us promptly at homebase@kaizah.tech if you suspect unauthorised access.

Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You may own or be a member of more than one household — for example, your own home and a family member's property. We reserve the right to close accounts that breach these terms.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card details. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing period.

Subscriptions are attached to a household, not to a user account. If you own more than one household, each household may carry its own separate subscription and billing cycle. Being invited as a member of another person's household does not create a subscription obligation for you.

If you upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle, we apply Stripe proration: you receive a credit for unused time on your current plan, and are charged only for the remaining time on the new plan. The net amount is collected on your next invoice.

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry automatically over the following days. If all retries fail, your subscription will be cancelled and your account will revert to the Free plan. You will not lose your data.

5. Free trial

New subscribers to Family Pro receive a 14-day free trial. Your card is collected at sign-up but not charged until the trial ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial and you will not be charged.

The free trial is available once per household. It applies to households that have never previously held a Stripe subscription. If you cancel during the trial and resubscribe, or if you create a second household, a further trial will not apply on that household.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time via the billing settings in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain full access until that date.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a new digital subscription from the date of purchase. However, by using the service immediately after subscribing, you acknowledge and agree that the 14-day cancellation right no longer applies, as permitted by regulation 36(1). This does not affect your right to cancel your ongoing subscription at any time going forward.

We do not offer refunds for the current billing period. If you have a billing dispute or believe you have been charged in error, contact us at homebase@kaizah.tech and we will investigate promptly.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Our Home Base to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, or offensive.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or another user's data.
  • Use the service for any commercial purpose other than managing your own household.
  • Resell or redistribute access to the service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are in breach of these terms, with or without notice.

8. Child accounts

Family Pro allows household owners to create child accounts for minors in their household. By creating a child account, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian of that child and that you consent to their use of the chores section of the app. Child accounts have restricted access and cannot modify household settings or view financial data.

You are responsible for supervising your child's use of the service and ensuring it is appropriate for their age.

9. Your data

You own the data you enter into Our Home Base. We process it only to provide the service. Our full data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

10. Our liability

Our Home Base is provided "as is". While we work hard to keep the service reliable, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We are not liable for any loss of data, loss of revenue, or other indirect losses arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

If you are a consumer, you also have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that these terms do not override.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
